"Destiny" is a song by the band Zero 7 and features vocal performances by Sia Furler and Sophie Barker. It was included on the album Simple Things and was released as a single. The song's lyrics deal with two lonely hearts whose paths in life will eventually tread into one another. In August 2001, the song debuted at number 30 on the UK Singles Chart and stayed in the top 75 for a total of three weeks. In Portugal, it peaked at number five, charting simultaneously with Zero 7's other single "Distractions", which reached number one.
The song was included on the soundtracks for the films Blue Crush, Obsessed and Raising Helen, the TV series Roswell. The song was also featured in the Sky Movies promo of the Star Wars saga, and also in the US tevlevision series Smallville. Lacoste used the song as background music for their official website. The song was also featured in a 2001 episode of the US daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless. Zero 7 performed the song live on Top of the Pops.
Two music videos were produced for this song: one directed by Tommy Pallotta interpolating rotoscoping techniques and another by Howard Greenhalgh.
